Lights Out
“Fight the monsters under your bed”
Birds Aren't Real looks for bands that combine real sounds (bird calls, voices, ambient sounds) with a genre that matches. What comes out is alchemy that feels personal. That hurts so good.
Birds Aren't Real emerged from the conviction that field recordings—actual, unprocessed, pulled straight from the world—belong nowhere near a record label, and yet here we are. The roster leans hard into that contradiction: Gracula turns recorded birdsong into something genuinely menacing, The Comebacks built a pop-punk earworm around what you wish you'd said to that one guy, and Lights Out harnesses the sounds you fell asleep to as a child. We're not interested in proving a point so much as we are in the sound of proof itself.
