Toothychum operates on a principle of productive minimalism: one band, two genres, infinite feedback loops. Luv (sic) arrived fully formed with the melodic instincts of classic shoegaze and the emotional transparency of emo's best impulses, which is to say they sound like they're perpetually on the verge of breaking down and breaking speakers simultaneously. We've heard sadder singers and louder guitars, but rarely in the same room, let alone the same song.
