The story of the night

The basement is pitch-black except for a single red exit sign. Vowel Movement hits like something feral trapped in a bathroom—pure vowel-scream punk, all guttural and airless, the kind of sound that makes your throat hurt just listening. Lights Out arrives next, and Kevin's field recordings (children breathing, ducts humming, the specific creak of a house settling at 3 a.m.) drift in like fog; Amethyst's ambient padding turns the room into someone else's sleep, and the crowd stops moving altogether. One sound wants to thrash you awake; the other wants you comatose—stagnant air meets minty fresh, and the room's already chosen sides.
